Conrad Hotel Veil Sculpture, (New York)
As a CAD Modeler on the Veil installation at the Conrad Hotel in New York City, I played a key role in aiding in the development of the upper veil structures, focusing on detailing for fabrication and installation. Working as part of a team of 5-10 designers, I helped create precise models for the cantilevered structures, ensuring they could be hoisted through a narrow passageway and assembled at height. To reduce weight and maintain structural integrity, we switched from steel to aluminum, ensuring the sculpture could be supported by the bolts without exceeding their capacity. The completed installation is a remarkable fusion of technical precision and artistic expression, featuring 16 miles of illuminated cables that form a striking, memorable visual display. My contribution to the project focused on transforming intricate design concepts into comprehensive CAD models, playing a crucial role in both the fabrication process and ensuring the smooth execution of the sculpture's installation.

“The sculpture is a great teacher. It demands that you pay attention to the material, the form, and the relationship between the two”
